William “Jack” Spears A Scouters Scouter Jack passed Wednesday, January, 28 His dedication to youth and adults through his Scouting Spirit is a wonderful legacy for Scouting!
Jack submitted the following articles for Eagle’s Quill. Let’s Keep the Scouts Coming Back for More
A great PROGRAM is what keeps the Scouts coming back for more. Often I hear from leaders that the boys in their unit have dropped out –especially the Webelos that have just joined. Ask yourself – what can I do better?? How is your Units program being run?? Is it a “Boy Run” program? Are there activities that are fun?? Are we going camping?? Are the boys advancing?? Are the boys being trained to do their jobs?? And how about the adult leaders – are they trained?? Perhaps this cartoon can shed some light on the future of your unit – are they having FUN????
…and remember – wherever you go and whatever you do always be a good Scout. Jack Spears – Program Chair

- Order of the Arrow, Wahpekahmekunk Chapter - Jon Fischer Silver Beaver - - The next WPK Chapter meetings are February 8 at Camp Red Wing, in the Kiwanis Lodge, at 2:30 pm.
The Order of the Arrow’s Wahpekahmekunk Chapter is in the process of conducting Unit Elections. Requirements for membership in the order are: Be at least 13, be at least a 1st class scout, and have spent 15 nights of camping in the past two years with at least 1 week of long term camp (only one year can count). If your troop has anyone who is eligible for membership or you would like to know more about the elections or the Order of the Arrow please contact Joseph Railey at jreaglescout07@gmail.com or at 765-744-0150. Election results are due to the Jaccos Towne Lodge by March 15. One Adult may be nominated as long as one youth is elected. The chapter is also looking for OA troop representatives. An OA troop representative is a member of your troop who is also an active member of the Order of the Arrow who attends chapter meetings and functions as a liaison between the chapter and your troop. This position is appointed by the SPL and approved by the Scoutmaster and counts for rank advancement. Again if you have any question contact Joseph Railey. The next chapter meetings will be held at Camp Red Wing in the Kiwanis Lodge, starting at 2:30 pm on Sunday February 8, March 1, and April 5. Jon Fischer, WPK Chapter
