Also to go along with that, each unit should schedule and plan next year’s activities and outings before the School Night in the Fall in order to give parents and new Scouts a calendar so they know all of the fun activities that they will be doing throughout the year. For more information or for training contact Megan Boots at the office at 765-288-0223 . Planning now ensures a quality program for the youth as well as eliminating out of pocket expenses for parents.

It’s that time of year again!  Each unit needs to schedule a Fall School Night now and get it on the calendars.  After you have done so, please let our School Night Chair, Paul Nunley know at 765-405-1080 or Leslie Anderson and Megan Boots at the office know at 765-288-0223 .

Wow, how the year has flown! It’s time to schedule Family Friends of Scouting Presentations! Please set these for a Blue & Gold or Court of Honor during November, December, January or February. And get these dates to the Scout Office at 765-288-0223 as soon as possible. Thanks!

DISTRICT CAMPING CHAIR Joseph Railey

This summer was a great summer for are district in terms of camping. We had many first time units to camp this summer. However there is always room for improvement. At the August roundtable we will have info. about summer camping activities, as well as sign up info for next year (it is not too early to sign up).  Also in the next few months OA and Firecrafter will be contacting unit leaders about conducting visits to their units to promote summer camp in that unit, please let these scouts come in and talk to your boys.  Also if you attended summer camp on your own or at a non CAC camp you need to let myself or the scout office know where you went and the numbers of both youth and adults that went so that we have accurate camping information.  If you have any questions about summer camp please contact me at jreaglescout07@gmail.com and I will be more than happy to answer them. Thank you all for a great summer.

Fall Do-It To-It Workday

Saturday, October 17.

Thanks for all the help!  It sometimes feels like what we are asked to do doesn’t add up to much.  But it does make a difference.  What we can do with our Pack and Troops adds up to a lot of work effort.  And, many times it is necessary work that cannot be done by Caretaker and just a few people.

This is our 12th year.  And, YOU have made a difference to the camp.

Now that the summer is over there are many things that are going on in the OA. We have are lodge ordeal August 18-20 at Camp Kritenstein , Lodge Fall Fellowship, and chapter meetings. These events are important because at lodge ordeal is when lodge elections for officers are held. The chapter is still trying to create plans for our winter camporee that we are hosting. Are goal is to have info. to present to scoutmasters at the October roundtable.  Chapter elections are also approaching we will hold elections for new officers at the fall camporee. Are next chapter meeting is in September at 2:30 at Camp Redwing . Following the meeting is pizza and movies so this would be a great first meeting to attend. If you have any questions about the OA or have ideas for our camporee please contact me at jreaglescout07@gmail.com.
